Awesome interview + 3 Case Studies
By Jeff Walker
[[ NOTE FROM JEFF WALKER: due to the
new FTC guidelines on testimonials that took
affect on 12/01/2009, I’ve had to remove the
Case Studies from this page until we get
further clarification on the new FTC
guidelines.]]
OK, I know I’ve been bombarding you with Case Studies and other content over the last few days, but I’ve got a few more for you… and then in another day or two I’m going to shake things up.
So here you go… this is more of an interview than a Case Study… but it’s really cool. It’s with one of my favorite “students” - Todd Brown.
Todd is a guy who a couple of years ago was working for a living, and now he’s living the dream of an Internet-based business… and he’s been able to do that by launching one product after another.
In this interview Todd talks a lot about exactly how he’s been able to accomplish this… there’s some critical lessons in here, both in terms of marketing tactics and also in terms of the type of big picture strategic mindset you need to go from a newbie to living the dream as a full-time Internet entrepreneur.

This Case Study is with Martin Speight - his market is health food. You’ll hear how he used Product Launch Formula to increase his sales for a product that was already existing. His prior promotion did about $xx… and when he used PLF he did $xx.
And then he followed that up with a promotion for an affiliate product that did another $xx.
And he did all of this during a time of year that’s traditionally a very slow period in his market!
Watch the Case Study to learn how he did it:

This Case Study with Chris Austin is one of my absolute favorites, because Chris did it while his life was INSANELY busy. He had a full-time job, and he’s a dad with four kids.
Nevertheless, he was still able to pull off a really sweet launch (ie, at least $xx), and then follow that up with another launch that did even better - and get this, when he did the launch he hadn’t actually created the product yet. He was actually using a version of the “Seed Launch”… which is one of the techniques I teach, where you actually use the launch to create the product.
Watch this Case Study to learn how Chris progressed from his Seed Launch to the full launch…

One of the questions I often get is whether Product Launch Formula will work outside of the U.S.A.. The answer is DEFINITELY… it’s been used all over the world, from Europe and the UK, to Australia, to Asia, to the Middle East… to Latin America.
This Case Study is with Jose Espana, who had a fantastic launch in Guatemala. Although Jose didn’t disclose his exact niche, it’s a membership site targeting Spanish speaking entrepreneurs. Watch the Case Study for all the details…

That’s it for now, but I’ll have more coming soon…
best regards,
Jeff

Your interviews are very encouraging. It shows your Product Launch formula actually works. I would like a copy when you launch it.

jeff,
I love you PLF and PLm idea. I sent you an email as well as a letter regarding PLM. It was really urgent. I was hoping you could respond to me as soon as possible. I do understand you’re busy.

I want to say that it is CRIMINAL that you are being FORCED to remove your great Case Studies by an oppressive Government that is continuously becoming more and more oppressive.
If I were you, I would PUBLISH THEM as a separate course, and call them EXTRA-ORDINARY CASE STUDIES,
and point out that YOUR AVERAGE CUSTOMER GETS NO RESULTS at all… only the ones who put your advice into effect get good results.
Good luck, and THANK YOU for so many great and helpful FREE case studies… you deserve at least my applause…. and also some of my money. Please publish the case studies and I promise I will be your first customer.

I’ll admit, I haven’t yet taken the time to study the new FTC rules. Of course, I haven’t implemented anything yet either, so it’s not an urgent matter for me at this time.
However, I was under the impression that one of their complaints was false advertising. I can’t understand how these case studies, being given to you in person, on video, by the actual people themselves could be considered a problem. I do understand the FTC’s dislike for those who post fake photos of themselves on blogs along with fake testimonials plus more fake photos of the so-called people giving the testimonials.
What you are presenting to us, though, is real. Maybe I missed it, but I don’t recall anyone saying if everyone who buys you’re program does this, they’re guaranteed to have $10,000 (or even $100) by next month.
I’ve bought a number of programs over the years. I’ve yet to earn any money. You know why? It’s not because the programs aren’t any good–I believe they are. It’s because I have not yet used them. It’s like the quote Todd Brown mentioned about what would I do if I weren’t afraid. Fear is my biggest obstacle. Sure, the lack of time and money are factors as well, but my fear of failure is what’s holding me back the most. That’s why seeing and hearing these case studies are so important to me. I appreciate the FTC’s intent, but sometimes they need to educate themselves more before making any changes or rules.
Thanks for bringing these to us, Jeff. Hopefully someday, I’ll be able to get past the fear and experience my own personal case study.
[[ COMMENT FROM JEFF: There are two primary things in the new FTC guidelines. One is that bloggers have to declare when they are being compensated for a review. The second is the one I’m talking about with regards to testimonials and declaring what “typical result” is. ]]

Jeff;
I looked at your statistics on Alexa.com, absolutely amazing. I am extremely impressed, the results speak for themselves.
I don’t know exactly what your secret is, but whatever it is, I know this, it works!
